RiteTrax is a multi-faceted support organisation, rooted in the local creative community.
RiteTrax is best described as a Sheffield-based social enterprise and events company supporting aspiring creatives, vulnerable adults and young people through events and workshops.
Initially an events promotion platform running small-scale gigs and club-nights with a community ethos, we’re now a key organisation supporting access to creative space and facilities through our flexible art space, Plot 22, and our ongoing outreach programmes with key collaborators in the city, including Sheffield Treatment & Recovery Team, Sheffield City Council and the Ben’s Centre, among others. In recent years, we’ve engaged hundreds of adults and young people through education and wellbeing interventions, including some of the most and ‘hard-to-reach’ individuals vulnerable in the city such as street drinkers and ex-offenders.
We combine promoting underground music and arts events with the provision of affordable art/event space and delivery of music and art workshops to vulnerable adults, young people and others. Development opportunities for people are embedded into our platform, providing experience and skills in a range of areas from music production to self employment and social media. Through our various event platforms including RiteTrax, Zone 88 and The Wub Club, we reach thousands of people every year through ongoing club-nights, gigs and festivals.
Our community work has an emphasis on supporting ex-offenders and people in recovery through engagement in the creative arts as a way of improving and maintaining wellbeing, while our broader aims are to increase participation in the creative arts and to continue provide a vital platform for artists to develop and share their work.
